The collection, Gracious Doves, is inspired by my son, Rein’s, kind and compassionate heart. Doves are universally seen as symbols of peace and harmony. Arab merchants started trading glass beads along the African East Coast from the mid-16th Century. White beads are highly valued in the Nguni cultures because they represent purity - the Afrikaans translation of Rein's name - and spiritual love.
